Sandpiper Phosphate Project-Bulk Sample Completed
TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 10/07/11 -- Minemakers Limited (TSX: MAK)(ASX: MAK)(NSX: MMS), Union Resources Limited (ASX: UCL) and Tungeni Investments c.c. ('Tungeni'), the joint venture participants in the company Namibian Marine Phosphate (Pty) Limited ('NMP'), are pleased to advise the completion of the bulk sample programme as a major component of the Definitive Feasibility Study ('DFS') for the Sandpiper Phosphate Project in Namibia.
The MV Smit Madura docked in Walvis Bay in accordance with the DFS schedule on the 4 October 2011 to deliver the final batch of the bulk sample and commence the demobilization process.

During the programme the team launched and recovered 105 grab loads, from the Atlantic Ocean offshore Namibia, using NMP's purpose-built 2.0m3 mechanical grab and recovery system. The NMP team is pleased that the MV Smit Madura crew coped well with swells of between 3.0m to 5.5m. The area sampled is the likely first mining target in our tenements. Approximately 265 tonnes were collected in 1.0 tonne bulker bags which have been unloaded in Walvis Bay and are currently being road freighted to the MINTEK processing facility near Johannesburg.

Under Bateman Advanced Technologies Ltd, the DFS lead consultants and NMP supervision, MINTEK is commissioning the pilot plant at its facility. It will be used to assess whether the beneficiation plant design derived by our work to date can be scaled up to a full commercial plant size and also produce samples for testing by our potential customers.
NMP further acknowledges the efforts of the entire team (including specialist contractors, company employees and vessel management and crew) who was responsible for design and construction of the purpose designed system and for conducting the programme in a safe and efficient manner under difficult sea conditions.
