Mosaic Honored for Community and Philanthropic Leadership in Saskatchewan and Florida
PLYMOUTH, Minn., Nov. 16, 2011 /CNW/ -- In connection with National Philanthropy Day, The Mosaic Company
received the Outstanding Corporate Philanthropist award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals -- Regina & Area Chapter in Saskatchewan and the Philanthropic Corporation of the Year award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals -- Florida Suncoast Chapter for its community leadership and corporate giving.Mosaic was nominated for the award in Saskatchewan by the Regina Symphony Orchestra and Hospitals of Regina Foundation. Mosaic's corporate leadership and community giving in Saskatchewan include gifts to the Children's Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan, Esterhazy Health Foundation, Moose Jaw Health Foundation and Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society. In addition, Mosaic demonstrates its mission of helping the world grow the food it needs through its efforts to raise more than 6,000 pounds of food at the Queen City Ex, a Regina, Saskatchewan, exhibition, and its involvement with Hunger in Moose Jaw, where it contributes to feeding almost 250 meals per day.
In Florida, Mosaic was nominated for the award by The Florida Aquarium, Hillsborough Education Foundation and Tampa Bay History Center. Mosaic's community leadership in central Florida includes significant gifts to ecosystem education and habitat preservation with The Florida Aquarium and Audubon of Florida. Mosaic also invests in local communities through its support of Hillsborough Education Foundation and Tampa Bay History Center. Mosaic further commits to addressing food security in communities through its hunger relief partnership with Feeding America Tampa Bay and the Home Runs for Food Program with the Tampa Bay Rays.
