Adroit Resources Inc.'s Red Vein Property-Copper-Gold Target Drilling Commencing January 2012

03.01.2012  |  Marketwire

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 01/03/12 -- Adroit Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE: ADT)(FRANKFURT: A7V)(BERLIN: A7V) -

Management is pleased to announce that the company has signed a 4,000 meter (minimum 1,500 meter) diamond drill contract with Forage Perfection Inc. of Notre-Dame Du-Nord, Quebec. Drilling is to commence no later than January 23, 2012 on the Little Pigeon Lake section of a 2.3 km strike length copper-gold-bearing quartz vein associated with a suspected copper-gold-silver mineralized porphyritic intrusion. The vein varies in width between 0.8 to 5.0 m. The Red Vein 14,816 Ha property is located within the southern part of the Abitibi greenstone belt in the Shining Tree area of northern Ontario.

The area has long been one of intense interest, located in the heart of the exploration triangle of the three large Ontario mining camps of Timmins (80 km due North), Sudbury (150 km due South) and Kirkland Lake (75 km Northeast). There are 30 VMS deposits over 200,000 tonnes of massive sulphide within 200 km of the Red Vein property including Kidd Creek in Timmins with 147,880,000 tonnes grading 2.31% copper, 6.18% zinc and 87 g/t silver and the Horne, H&G orebodies in Noranda with 53,700,000 tonnes grading 2.2% copper and 6.10 g/t gold. There are numerous historical copper showings on the property and gold showings abound in the surrounding area. The property is located approximately 10 km south-east of the former Tyranite Gold Mine and 8 km south of the Sothman nickel deposit (see News Release of October 6, 2008).

Induced Polarization and Mapping Surveys. A deep IP survey was completed on the Little Pigeon Lake portion of the property on March 23, 2011 by Larder Geophysics (Kirkland Lake, Ontario). The survey was undertaken on 8.1 km of freshly cut grid designed to cover the westernmost 600 meters of a 2.3 km strike length copper-gold-bearing quartz vein. This vein is hosted within intermediate to mafic porphyritic to aphyric volcanic rocks that have been altered adjacent to the vein. Alteration consists of silica-sericite as pervasive fronts imparting a cream to beige colour to the rock. Domains of chlorite-rich material are also present in the alteration zone and these are interpreted as less-altered host rock. Disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite are also present in wallrocks adjacent to the vein.

Results of the IP survey indicate the presence of numerous east-west-trending linear zones of elevated conductance associated with variable resistivity. Of particular interest in the survey results is a broad resistivity high feature interpreted as a late porphyry intrusion. A resistivity low is superimposed on this resistivity high and likely represents a crosscutting structure with attendant alteration. The copper-gold vein observed in historic trenches at surface would have such a geophysical signature. Flanking the high resistivity anomaly is an intense chargeability high that may be attributed to mineralization associated with the interpreted porphyry intrusion. Based on analogies with past-producing gold deposits in the Timmins mining camp these features are strongly suggestive of a geological environment consisting of a copper-gold-bearing quartz vein and a mineralized intrusion.

Adroit also completed an extensive mapping program over the IP survey area in the summer of 2011. Mapping confirmed several areas of pervasive silica-sericite alteration developed in close proximity to the IP survey responses. The January 2012 drill program will test targets with combined IP responses and altered host rocks.

Red Vein Property NI43-101 Compliant Report. A compilation report undertaken to review and integrate all geological, geophysical and geochemical data on Adroit's Red Vein property has been completed. The findings have been utilized to assist in determining drill targets for copper-gold vein systems, and VMS base metal massive sulphide-type mineralization. Mount Morgan Resources Ltd. was retained for this report.

Doctor Mehmet Taner, Eng., Ph.D. has verified and approved the geological information contained within this news release. Dr. Taner satisfies the requirements of a Qualified Person as defined in National Instrument 43-101 (Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects).
