Patriot Coal Receives Mountaineer Guardian Safety Award at Campbell's Creek Complex
ST. LOUIS, Feb. 13, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Patriot Coal Corporation today announced that a highly respected Mountaineer Guardian Safety Award has been presented to the Campbell's Creek No. 7 mine, an underground mining operation in the Campbell's Creek complex near Charleston, West Virginia.
Mountaineer Guardian Safety Awards are presented each year by the West Virginia Coal Association to mining operations that demonstrate a commitment to operational safety. Inspectors for the West Virginia Office of Miners' Health, Safety & Training nominate facilities based on numerous safety-related criteria, including below average injury incidence rates and effective, comprehensive safety programs.
'We are honored to receive another Mountaineer Guardian Safety Award for outstanding safety performance. The Campbell's Creek No. 7 mine received this award two years ago, as well. Clearly, each of our employees at this mine fully embraces safety as a way of life,' noted Patriot President and Chief Executive Officer Richard M. Whiting. 'I thank all of our dedicated employees for their on-going focus on safety across all of our operations.'
