Imperial Files Red Chris Technical Report

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/14/12 -- Imperial Metals Corporation (TSX: III) reports it has filed on SEDAR today, a National Instrument 43-101 compliant 2012 Technical Report on the Red Chris Copper-Gold Project (the '2012 Report').


The 2012 Report updates all exploration activities and mining plans of the Red Chris project to December 31, 2011, and was prepared by Greg Gillstrom, Senior Geological Engineer, Raj Anand, Manager Project Development, and Stephen Robertson, Exploration Manager. The Company released the updated resource for Red Chris on February 2, 2012. The 2012 Report will be available on www.sedar.com and www.imperialmetals.com.


The Red Chris project is located in northwest British Columbia, approximately 18 kilometres southeast of the Iskut village, 80 kilometres south of Dease Lake, and 12 kilometres east of the Stewart-Cassiar Highway (Highway 37).


Imperial is a mine development and operating company based in Vancouver, British Columbia. The Company's key properties are two open pit mines: Mount Polley copper/gold mine and Huckleberry copper/molybdenum mine, both in British Columbia, as well as the development stage Red Chris copper/gold property in British Columbia and the Sterling gold property in Nevada.
