Sama Resources Initiates 13,500 Line/km Airborne Magnetometer and Radiometric Survey Over its Samapleu Project (Cote d'Ivoire) and Part of its Lola Project (Guinea)
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/24/12 -- Sama Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE: SME) ("Sama" or the "Company") -
Further to Sama's news release dated January 31, 2012, Sama is pleased to announce that it has commenced a 13,500 line/kilometre airborne magnetometer and radiometric survey. Xcalibur Airborne Geophysics ("XAG"), of the Republic of South Africa, has mobilized an aircraft near the Samapleu Project site and has begun data collection. The airborne survey will cover the entire Samapleu Project license in Cote d'Ivoire and the eastern part of its Lola Project in Guinea. The survey area will be flown at 100-metre/line spacing, with tie-line spacing set at every 1,000 metres.
The airborne survey will assist with Sama's geological interpretation of the entire Samapleu/Lola Project area, with emphasis on identifying additional geological and structural controls with the potential for nickel-copper sulphide mineralization and further massive chromites mineralization.
XAG is using a Turbine Islander aircraft equipped with 2 magnetometer Geometrics G823 Cesium Vapour sensors and an industry standard RMS AARC 500 Compensator. Radiometric emissions are measured using an Exploranium GR 820 gamma ray spectrometer with 32-litre crystal packs.
The Samapleu Project in Cote d'Ivoire and the Lola Project in Guinea are currently in their exploration phase. The Samapleu Project is a joint venture controlled 66 2/3% by Sama Nickel Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, and 33 1/3% by Societe pour le Developpement Minier de Cote d'Ivoire. The exploration licenses for the Lola Project in Guinea are exclusively held by a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sama.
