Injured Employees Released From Hospital
JOHANNESBURG, July 4, 2012 /CNW/ - Gold Fields Limited (Gold Fields) (JSE, NYSE, NASDAQ Dubai: GFI) is pleased to report that the eleven people admitted to hospital for observation following a fire at the KDC mine over the weekend, have been released.
The proto teams continue to work at the KDC West Ya Rona shaft to extinguish the fire that is burning at around 2,800 meters below surface in a worked-out area between 38 and 39 levels.
KDC West remains closed under a Section 54 Order and the investigation into the cause of the fire continues. KDC East re-opened last night.
