J3C 1.30 0.60 3.00 Footwall and Shear Zone
J5 4.50 Anomalous Anomalous Footwall and Shear Zone
J7 0.80 0.69 1.00 Shear Zone
* All Channels oriented perpendicular to strike of shear zones.
Strong mineralization is present in the J3B channel samples with 3.2 m of 7.80 grams/tonne (g/t) gold and 23.31 g/t silver, including 2.20 meters of 11.21 g/t gold and 32.16 g/t silver.
The J3A sampling returned a broad zone of 4.90 meters of 0.015 to 0.12 g/t gold and 0.30 to 1.60 g/t silver in the footwall of the shear on the shoreline with the main zone visible just off shore in the lake. The J3C channel returned 1.30 meters of 0.60 g/t gold and 3.0 g/t silver.
The recently completed work followed up the initial positive results from the J3 shear zone, located on the northwest side of the J Zone. The J3 shear, partially exposed over a 40 meter strike length from where it emerges from forest cover, strikes north into a moderately sized lake with the shear and alteration zone observed to become wider as it trends to the north. Three channels were cut across the exposed 40 meter strike length with channel J3A set out at the northern limit of the shear zone as it trends into the lake. The channel sample tested the unmineralized granodiorite host rock as it transitions into the footwall of the main J3 shear, as the main zone is visible just offshore in the lake. Channel J3B was set approximately 22 meters south of the northern most J3A sample site and J3C channel is located approximately 40 meters to the south of J3A.
The Company is eagerly awaiting results from the two small diameter drill holes completed mid-November on the J3 Zone with one drill hole targeting the offshore extension visible in the lake to the North and another short drill hole tested the area under the J3C channel sample on the south end of the J3 shear zone exposure.
Other results of significance include the J1 North trench re-sampled with rock saws, which returned 0.45 meters of 6.88 g/t gold and 4.10 g/t silver compared to the 0.49 meters of 0.48 g/t gold and 0.6 g/t silver in the earlier program with a chisel sample. This confirms the Company's assertion that detailed channel sampling with rock saws ensures representative samples.
The J1 South returned 1.3 meters of 6.43 g/t gold and 1.30 g/t silver including footwall mineralization, including 1.0 meters of 8.95 g/t gold and 1.85 g/t silver. The J1 South channel is located approximately 10 meters to the South of the J1 North trench.
The recently completed Phase Two exploration program entailed channel sampling of the J Zone, C Zone and the Fox South Zone. Upon the receipt and interpretation of the data, the remaining results of the work on the C Zone and Fox South Zone will be released.
The Up Town Gold property is within sight of two historic gold producers, the Giant and Con gold mines that have produced over 12,000,000 ounces of gold. The property encompasses five known gold bearing zones hosted in Archean granodiorites. Manson Creek has completed reconnaissance prospecting and sampling over much of the core of the 3,388-hectare property. Gold mineralization, often with significant silver mineralization, extends over three kilometers of strike in the Rod, Fox South, J7 and C areas (Map of showing locations and Phase Two sampling can be found at www.manson.ca).
Analytical Method
Samples were submitted to Acme Labs in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories for analysis with all of the rock samples analyzed using inductively coupled plasma (ICP) together with mass spectrometry (MS) finish. Gold was analyzed by a fire assay preparation with an ICP-ES finish.
