Newton Announces Dr. Ian Flint as President
Dr. Flint is a well-regarded consultant to the mining industry based in Halifax. He achieved his PhD in Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering from the University of British Columbia and spent ten years as a professor in the Faculty of Engineering, Dalhousie University. His academic work has focused on independent industrial process design including chemical separations. Dr. Flint worked for Cominco Engineering Services Ltd ("CESL") from 1989 to 1993 and then from 1997 to 1999. While employed by CESL he worked on the design and commercialization of floatation column solutions for the mining industry.
"Dr. Flint will bring his plus 25 years of experience in developing alternative extractive techniques to the Company. These proprietary techniques will be applied to the aluminum, titanium and silica within the Sibley Road and Pugu Hills Properties," stated Mark McLeary, CEO of Newton Gold. "This is a very unique opportunity for us to further develop and perfect these extraction techniques within the Company," continued Mr. McLeary.
In addition to the aforementioned change, Newton will also be appointing Paul Lemmon, P. Geo., as Vice-President, Exploration.
Mr. Lemmon is a Professional Geologist licensed by the Association of Professional Engineers and GeoScientists of New Brunswick as well as a Fellow of the Geological Society of London UK, the licensing body for professional Geoscientists in the United Kingdom. Paul is also a Professional Graduate of United Kingdom's Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining.
Mr. Lemmon brings a significant amount of African experience to the Company as he has worked in Guyana, Guinea, Liberia, Mali, Tanzania, Libya, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In addition, he is Chief Geologist of CopperZone Resources Ltd (Zambia), DiaGeo Resources Ltd (Tanzania) and GWN Gold Inc.(Mali).
