Rio Grande Mining Corp. Announces Appointment of New CFO

Vancouver, BC, March 5, 2012: Rio Grande Mining Corp. (RGV - TSX-V) (“Rio Grande” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that Mr. Casey Forward, CGA, has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of the Company. Mr. Forward is currently a director of the Company.The Company also announces that Mr. Dusan Berka has been appointed director of the Company.
Mr. Berka, P. Eng., is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Megastar Development Corp. He has over 35 years of international business experience spanning Europe and the Americas with extensive experience in the finance, marketing and administration of public companies, having served as a director and officer of various public companies traded on the TSX, TSX Venture and NASDAQ exchanges. A graduate engineer with a M.Sc. (Dipl.Ing.) degree from Slovak Technical University, Bratislava, Slovakia (1968), Mr. Berka has been a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia since 1977.
The Company also advises that Mr. Bryce Clark has resigned as Chief Financial Officer and director of the Company. Management would like to thank Mr. Clark for his dedication to the Company over the past few years.
